About Sean Cossey Marine Service North West Tasmania
Sean Cossey from Sean Cossey Marine Service grew up on boats, did an apprenticeship as a Marine Mechanic in WA before working for various firms in the 1980s including Beacon Marine (Mercury, Mercruiser, Carribean Dealer) and Hayway Marine (Johnson, Evinrude, various boats Dealer).
In the late ’80s he managed a canal boat workshop in England with a Yamaha dealership. On his return to Perth, WA in 1990 he did contract work before heading north in 2000 to set up and run a workshop for Kingswood Marine in Broome, Western Australia (Mercury, Mercruiser, Savage, Bermuda, Trailcraft Dealer).
In November 2002 he moved to Mandurah WA, with his family and established Sean Cossey Mobile Marine Service. In the five years to follow Sean and his wife, Natalie, built a reputable business with in excess of 500 regular customers with a vast array of boats to service and repair throughout the metropolitan area.
In August 2006 Sean and his family ventured to the Apple Isle on a family holiday and after motorhoming around the State fell in love with it and decided to set the wheels in motion to sell up in WA and move to Tassy. They finally arrived in October 2007. Since then Sean has been contracting in the Marine Industry as well as running his own business on a much smaller scale. After speaking with numerous boaties and getting a feel for the Marine Industry and Tasmania he realised that there was a need for a Mobile Marine Service that could handle a wide range of repairs and servicing of outboards and sterndrives on location.
With over 28 years experience and knowledge in the Marine Industry and certified by Mercury / Mercruiser / Johnson / Evinrude / Yamaha Sean can also work on Honda, Tohatsu, Suzuki, Volvo and OMC Cobra. Sean also specialises in electrical wiring/rewiring, accessory installations, hydraulic steering systems, engine and gearbox rebuilds, boat trailer repairs and manufacturing, prepurchase and insurance inspections.
